Learn to Skydive

For those who want to learn to skydive, static line parachuting is perfect. It is also the first step towards becoming a skydiver yourself. This involves you leaving the aircraft at 3,500ft. Your parachute will be attached to the aircraft and automatically deployed by a ‘static line’ as you fall.

You will receive between 6-8 hours of training on the ground prior to this. Once you have completed your training, you will be ready to make your first parachute jump. Our training covers everything you need to know, so you can land safely.

After your first static jump, you can develop your skills even further by doing more jumps from higher altitudes and following our training.

For your quickest route to our centre from Oswestry, follow the A483 and A55 to the M53. Follow the M56 and M6 to Preston and take the exit on junction 33. We are around 15 minutes from the junction. Our postcode is LA2 0DY, which can be entered into your satnav.

To skydive anywhere in the UK, a British Skydiving membership is compulsory.

Accelerated Freefall Training

Accelerated Freefall (AFF) allows quick progression of your skills. It is an intensive course that can be completed in 7 days, weather permitting. Once you become qualified, you can jump anywhere in the world.

Due to its intensity you will be in a small group or on your own with one of our qualified instructors. By the 8th progression level, you will jump from 6000ft. After that, you will require to complete a minimum of 10 consolidation jumps without an instructor. Then, you will become an A licensed skydiver.

About Oswestry & the Local Area

Oswestry is a market town close to the Welsh border. A traditional and friendly town, it is well-known for its lively street markets, independent shops and annual events. There are many things to see and do in the area.

The British Ironwork Centre boasts the biggest display of decorative metalwork in the country. One of its most recent projects include the Knife Angel, made from over 100,000 knives that have been removed from the streets. Alternatively, visit Llangollen Wharf, a major tourist attraction and World Heritage Site. Boasting beautiful scenery and a great day out, experience a horse drawn boat trip and drift through the Welsh mountains.

Old Oswestry Iron Age Hill Fort marks the beginning of one of Britain’s oldest settlements. It is also thought to be the birthplace of Queen Guinevere. Additionally, the hillfort was used as a military training area for troops during WWI and poet Wilfred Owen completed his army training there.
